Sources & methods

Our tools use plain formulas and editable assumptions so the result can be checked rather than merely trusted.

Kitchen conversions

Mass conversions are ingredient-specific. Reference weights are drawn from USDA FoodData Central, common U.S. package measures, and published culinary weight charts. The recipe author’s stated weight takes priority.

Laundry guidance

U.S. care-label explanations follow the Federal Trade Commission Care Labeling Rule and the U.S. ASTM symbol system. Cleaning steps are conservative and always defer to the complete garment label.

Moving estimates

Moving results are planning ranges derived from bedrooms, occupants, household fullness, and practical per-room allowances. They are not capacity guarantees; users must confirm rental-company dimensions and weight limits.

Project calculators

Area and volume use standard geometry. Coverage, waste, density, packaging, substrate, pattern, and installation method can change purchasing needs, so editable product-specific inputs take priority.
