How the calculation works
Area is multiplied by depth in feet and divided by 27 cubic feet per cubic yard. The order amount then converts to the selected bag size.

Should I buy exactly the calculated amount of mulch?
Usually no. Cuts, spillage, breakage, uneven surfaces, batch matching, and package rounding can increase the order. Use the editable allowance and confirm the product label.
Why does the result round up?
Stores sell full bags, boxes, cans, rolls, panels, or pieces. The tool keeps the mathematical amount visible, then rounds the purchasing quantity up separately.
How deep should mulch be?
Use the depth appropriate for the material, plants, site, and existing layer. The calculator intentionally lets you choose rather than prescribing one depth.
How many 2 cu ft bags are in a cubic yard?
One cubic yard is 27 cubic feet, so it equals 13.5 two-cubic-foot bags mathematically; purchasing requires rounding up.
